A Buoyancy Control Device (BCD) allows divers to manage their buoyancy by inflating or deflating, helping them achieve positive, neutral, or negative buoyancy. BCDs come in two main styles: jacket and harness, suited for single tank, twin tank, and side mount diving.

Jacket Style BCDs
Popular with recreational divers, jacket BCDs offer adjustability, comfort, and affordability. These BCDs feature male and female-specific fits, large storage pockets, and integrated weight options. The bladder inflates around the back and sides, offering stability at the surface but may challenge achieving a flat trim position underwater. The adjustable design makes donning and doffing easy.

Rear Inflation BCDs
These BCDs also offer high adjustability, but the bladder is located at the back, helping divers maintain a prone trim position underwater.

Harness and Wing Systems
Originally used in technical diving, harness and wing systems are now popular for recreational diving due to their streamlined design and sturdiness. Attached to a backplate, which can be made from steel, aluminum, or carbon fiber, this setup is stable and customizable. Divers can switch between single and twin tanks by attaching different wings. Integrated weight options and color customization are available for personalization.
